Computer Based Training for ADF Joint Mission Planning System

The Challenge

Sigma Bravo is responsible for the integration and support of Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) for multiple aircraft types and across Defence networks. JMPS is a complex system to learn and maintain competency.

Face-to-face training of JMPS is delivered by our embedded field service representatives (FSRs) but ADF users identified the need for relevant and specific reference training material that could be available anywhere and any time, such as on deployment without access to FSRs.

What We Did

Our subject matter experts and Computer Based Training (CBT) developers executed a complete training needs analysis and course design. Instructional content was written, and software simulations created complete with speech, closed captions and animation. 140 modules comprising over 700 topics were delivered on time and on budget.

Results

Sigma Bravo delivered comprehensive e-learning packages for the ADF to supplement formal training and provide an on-going reference for the complex mission planning software.

We deployed the CBT to Defence Classified Networks and deployable systems in monthly stages allowing users to access the training modules as they were developed. A bespoke delivery framework was developed by Sigma Bravo to simplify updates to the CBT packages.
