The Mission Planning Software Specialist will be working on cutting edge technology for the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence based in Canberra.
The Role
We are currently looking for a highly driven Software Specialist (Mission Planning) to join our team working on technology for the deployment of secure systems in support of Defence for the Mission Planning System (MPS) required for both current and future Australian Defence Force capabilities.
Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical support to the development, introduction to service, sustainment and evolution of software and hardware, data, tools and processes in fixed and deployed environments for ADF mission planning systems.
- Technical support to the development of solutions to resolve issues with data support for MPS.
- Installing, configuring, testing and deploying software.
- Provide effective support to ensure all mission systems are working and meet the operational needs of users
- Provide support on Defence strategic networks
- Technical support to the security and accreditation of MPS
- Identifying and managing program and technical risks and issues within the support to operations scope.
- Reviewing, verifying, and improving documentation produced in support of MPS development and sustainment.
- Meet assigned task within Project deliverables
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Working knowledge of ADF aviation operations
- Demonstrable knowledge of JMPS
- Experience with Defence ICT environments (including DPE and DSE)
- Technical/Admin level experience with client operating systems and Windows Office products
- Working knowledge of software programming/scripting
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements
- Experience in software development environments.
- Database development experience using SQL Server
- Advanced Office Computing Application knowledge in Win10, Excel, Word, Access & XML
- Working Knowledge of FMS process
- Geospatial data experience
