The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our high-performing agile software development team. This role will be engaged on the development of innovative solutions for military mission planning within Defence Aviation. To understand more about our service offerings across a current project, check out Joint Mission Planning System components and how they are used as part of the Army’s Aviation Mission System (AMS).

One of the core deliverables of this role is to be able to design and develop high quality software in accordance with relevant standards and processes in an agile environment. As the Senior Developer, you will have the ability to translate business requirements into software deliverables, estimation of work at a task level, and be able to assist with system testing (including performance and unit testing).

This role would suit a Software Developer who is ready to take on a Senior position to utilize their advanced problem-solving expertise into a complex solution space to support our Defence forces.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Tertiary qualification in either Engineering, Computer Science or relevant IT qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years in a Software Developer function role
  • Proven ability in developing software using C#
  • Experience developing applications using Microsoft .Net Framework (WPF or Xamarin experience highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of software architecture capability inclusive of target state architecture, object-oriented design, and multi-tier patterns (MVVM)
  • Proven experience in Unit Testing approaches and Test-Driven Development practices as well as software implementation best practices and patterns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to a range stakeholders

Due to the nature of Sigma Bravo's work, all applicants must have the ability to obtain a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance (usually only granted to Australian Citizens).
