The Role
The Application Packager and Technical Support – Mission Planning System (MPS) is responsible to the MPS Network Operations Manager to provide application packaging system administration and desktop support for MPS, ICT systems used and supported by Sigma Bravo, including MPS software and systems for the Australian Defence Force. Primary work location Canberra, with possible domestic travel.
Role Responsibilities
- Represent Sigma Bravo in a professional manner and adhere to Sigma Bravo policies and practices as outlined in the Business Management System and Security documentation. The Mission IT and Security Tech is responsible to the MPS Network Operations Manager to provide technical support for the secure MPS supported by Sigma Bravo as follows but not limited to:
- Technical support to the development, introduction to service, sustainment and evolution of software and hardware, data, tools and processes in fixed and deployed environments for ADF mission planning systems.
- Technical support to the development of solutions to resolve issues with data support for MPS.
- Develop, manage, and maintain systems configuration for MPS laptops.
- Installing, configuring, testing and deploying software.
- Provide effective support to ensure all mission systems are working and meet the operational needs of users
- Provide support on Defence strategic networks
- Technical support to the security and accreditation of MPS
- Identifying and managing program and technical risks and issues within the support to operations scope.
- Reviewing, verifying, and improving documentation produced in support of MPS development and sustainment.
- Meet assigned task within Project deliverables
Due to the nature of Sigma Bravo’s work, all applicants must have the ability to obtain a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance (usually only granted to Australian Citizens).
To be successful in this role you will need the following essential skills/experience:
- Defence ICT environments (including DPE and DSE)
- MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager)
- Advanced installer or AdminStudio
- Microsoft Windows Server & Desktop Platforms
- Scripting (PowerShell & Batch)
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
- MacAfee EPO Suite or similar products.
- Ivanti application and device control or similar products.
- Defence ICT environments (including DPE and DSE).
- Windows Imaging.
- Experience in software development.
- Working knowledge of Aviation Mission Planning and knowledge of AC-C2CS environment
- Database management experience.
- VMware/VSphere.
